By Jodie Campbell
As a mom I must wear a thousand hats.
They are stacked straight up to the moon.
Some are worn daily, some are worn weekly,
and some are never removed.
At times it is hard to balance them all
but I always seem to manage.
Just look at all of the hats that I wear.
It gives me quite an advantage.
I’m a seamstress, a doctor, a teacher, a baker,
a chauffeur, a vet, a nurse and bed-maker.
A cheerleader, a launderer, a boss, a clothes buyer,
a counselor, a comforter, a mentor, and hair dryer.
A maid, a volunteer, a broken heart mender,
a guard, a hugger, a greeting card sender.
With all of these hats piled up on my head,
my neck is stiff, my face is red.
My back is sore from the weight, I reckon,
though I wouldn’t dare take them off for a second!
