I am a happy person, a positive person. It only makes sense that I would start off the new year happy and positive (and that’s exactly what I plan to do)!
Here are the top five things that are SURE to keep me on track for a negativity-free new year.

5. Jif Peanut Butter
On everything. Need I say more?

4. Music
Earth, Wind & Fire, to be exact. After a 10-hour workday or while cleaning house on a rainy Saturday (and dancing while doing so), a little Boogie Wonderland takes me back to the days when I didn’t have a care in the world! Oh, to be young again. The world just seemed simpler and kinder back then.

3. Laughter
Every day I’m going to find something to laugh about. The sillier, the better! It helps that I have absolutely no problem laughing at myself. Like the time I face-planted on a sidewalk while visiting Chicago with my daughters. The Starbucks drink that I was holding did a double flip in the air and landed perfectly upright in a nearby flowerbed! I could not recreate that moment again if I tried!

2. A Clean Slate
I refuse to hold on to thoughts that bring feelings of sadness and have the potential to drain my mental energy. I’m letting them go. I refuse to dwell on dreams that faded and hopes that were shattered. They have already slipped away. I also refuse to hold grudges or harbor hard feelings because that would block my peace and defeat the purpose, right?

1. Family and Friends
I plan on filling next year with continued quality time with my family. Trust me, there is never a dull moment when we are together! I am going to throw in some new adventures with friends as well (which may include my first ever Amtrak getaway)! I'll top it
off with fun-filled book festivals, up-close-and-personal author visits, and new and exciting marketing ideas!
Here's to a new year of peace, love, and . . . a new book? (Wink)
YOLO!
PS – What is one thing that keeps YOU positive and happy that you'll carry with you into the new year?
